Diwali at the Kitsilano Community Centre

Celebrate Diwali, the celebration of light at the Kitsilano Community Centre! Activities include Bollywood Dancing, henna tattoos, diya painting, saree draping, and refreshments from local restaurants.



Diwali Downtown Vancouver

Diwali Fest returns for it’s 14th Annual Celebration of the Festival of Lights at Diwali Downtown Vancouver. This multicultural event features music and dance performances by local artists. The beloved Rangoli room will be back again – join us to create a room sized mosaic artwork! Fashion is a big part of Diwali as this time is one of the biggest shopping seasons in India and it is customary to wear something new on Diwali to symbolize a new year. Fashion will be a focus at “Diwali Downtown Vancouver” with a Sari-Wrapping workshop and a Fashion Show. There will also be Free Diwali Theme instructor led Art class and Rangoli-painting workshops for kids.



Diwali Fest Cooking Class

Food is a huge part of the Diwali holiday. We’re getting into the Diwali spirit through some exciting and tasty cooking classes, for small and affordable fee of $20, to take place in the professional community kitchen at the Roundhouse.

Learn how to make delicious traditional Indian dishes. Each class includes a cooking demonstration, tasting and recipes.



Diwali @ the Vancouver Central Library

Celebrate the sights and sounds of Diwali with an exciting music and dance performance. This event will feature colourful, fast-paced Indian dance performances to celebrate the 14th Annual Diwali Fest.



Diwali Downtown Surrey

Diwali Downtown is the festival’s main event and a key attraction for our festival sponsors, drawing thousands of attendees from all demographics for a South Asian cultural extravaganza. Diwali Downtown brings together the best of contemporary and classical Indian culture for the entire family. This year’s event will include over fifteen unique music and dance performances, an Indian style bazaar (marketplace) featuring South Asian crafts and food.
