Born in Kolkata and raised in many cities in India, Devraj grew up in the surroundings of his parents who both are artists and painters. Devraj started singing when he was 5 years old. His initial learning was based on Bhajans, then eventually he started learning Indian Classical Vocal Music (Hindustani Classical Music).
Now at the age of 13, he has been performing regularly in many places including Vancouver Tagore Society and Lower Mainland Bengali Cultural Society. He is been getting his training from Harshad Dongre, who is one of the represents the new face of Indian Classical Performers.
