Simranjot Sekhon is pursuing a Business degree at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. “Interning at Diwali Fest was an incredible experience for me. I truly enjoyed being part of an event that celebrated our rich culture and brought the community together. It was exciting to work with a diverse team, gain insights into event management, and contribute to something so meaningful. This opportunity not only helped me grow personally but also allowed me to connect with amazing people and strengthen my skills in organization and collaboration.”

Lovekumar Doshi is a project manager and marketingprofessional with an MBA and over six years of work experience. His journey with Diwali Fest began as an intern, where he contributed to marketing and operations, helping tocelebrate the Festival of Lights in a meaningful way. “I’ve gained insight into the Canadian ways of working, learned to thrive in a multicultural environment, and witnessed the power of collaboration in building a strong community. What truly stood out for me was the Board and team. It wasn’t just about organizing a festival—it was about creating relationships, sharing stories, and bringing joy to so many.”

Aryan is studying VFX and Animation from KwantlenPolytechnic University. “Working as a videographer and editor for the Diwali Fest was an incredibly rewardingexperience. The event's vibrant energy, delicious food, and warm atmosphere transported me back to India, making it all the more special. It was a joy to socialize with everyone and capture the essence of such a beautiful celebration. The team's collaboration and dedication were inspiring, and I would love the opportunity to work with them again on future events.”

Alexey Kozlov is a seasoned Business Developer andMarketing Specialist with seven years of work experience and is advancing his knowledge with a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. The internship at Diwali Fest gave him a great opportunity to get a glimpse into a new atmosphere and significantly broaden his cultural experience. “It is wonderful to be part of a team that organizes such a bright and luminous festival. All team members work in a collaborative way it helped me to remember the internship as a very positive and warmexpierience.”

Maryam is a third-year student at Kwantlen PolytechnicUniversity, and is focused on pursuing her BBA whilst retaining a passion for volunteering and engaging with her community.She is excited to work with others and make a difference by actively engaging with and bridging the gap between diverse groups. She also volunteers at her university’s MSA where she creates awareness via student connection events. Maryam’s goals for Diwali Fest are to expand public understanding of different cultures whilst increasing her own knowledge by helping to create a comfortable and entertaining celebration that everyone can enjoy.

Ankit Tuli is a graduate of Vancouver Film School in 3DAnimation and Visual Effects and has 15+ years ofexperience in Graphic Design and Multimedia. "It has been a magical Nine years with Diwali Fest, working with creatives and contributing to the vibrant tapestry of Canadian culture! I enjoy collaborating with incredible multicultural talents—each project feels like a masterpiece!”
