Volunteer

We have many exciting positions to be filled. We require volunteers to set up events, as well as to fill event assistance and audience services during the event.

Some of the events are creative (like helping with diya painting and rangoli creations), some require manual labor (like helping us to set up tables and chairs), and some require great people skills (like greeters, collecting donations, information desk).

All of the positions require a great sense of community spirit and willingness to have fun!

Benefits

At the event orientation on the day of the event, you will receive your festival information via e-mail a week before and a Diwali Fest T-shirt for event day at our signature events. We’ll introduce you to your position managers, meet with your co-workers, overview of the festival and events, and discuss your position(s) in greater detail. We’ll also have some snacks to share!

Each shift will last approximately 6-7 hours. All volunteers receive snacks on all day events, a letter of appreciation, and a pre-event orientation.

We’ll do our best to offer you a position that interests you!

If you have any questions please contact our Volunteer Coordinator for Diwali Fest: volunteer@diwalifest.ca.

Testimonials

Prabhleen
"I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to volunteer with Diwali Fest. From the moment I joined the team, I was struck by the warmth andcommitment of the organizers, who work tirelessly to ensure that every aspect of the festival reflects the true spirit of Diwali. As a volunteer, I had the chance to work behind the scenes and interact with festival attendees, assisting with event set up and helping facilitate activities that brought the community together. It was truly rewarding to witness the excitement of families and individuals as they enjoyed the food, music, and cultural displays. Being part of Diwali Fest has been a profoundly fulfilling experience. I am grateful to have contributed to such a positive celebration, and I look forward to continuing to support thisincredible organisation for years to come."
