Vishad brings extensive experience in the field of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in the workplace. A true advocate for change, he has lent his voice to support many women’s groups and marginalized people in South Africa, the country where he was born and raised.
Vishad’s experience with non-profit organizations in BC holds him in good stead for his role as the new Lead for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion for the City of Burnaby.
Vishad’s first-hand experience in driving change has contributed to his passion for EDI. Together with his husband, they sparked constitutional change in South Africa in support of equal treatment for all fathers (described in detail here).
